Elana Seifert

Elana Seifert has extensive experience defending individuals, businesses, insurance organizations and municipal corporations in the greater Chicagoland area. She has extensive experience in Federal Motor Carrier and broker defense and construction litigation, and additional experience in automobile, premises, products liability, insurance coverage, commercial litigation, and governmental tort immunity defense, and cases of alleged wrongful police pursuits. She has taken 20 cases to jury verdict and handled countless mediations and arbitrations along with several appeals, including contract work for the Office of the State Appellate Defender, in which she focused on emerging issues in juvenile justice. Ms. Seifert is a past certified arbitrator with the Cook County Court Annexed Arbitration system and has been selected to serve as arbitrator on un/underinsured motorist arbitration panels.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Seifert worked as a journalist and editor for general interest publications, legal publications, and publications directed at emergency responders. Articles published in Chicago Reader, New City, Crain’s Chicago Business, Illinois Real Estate Journal, Off Our Backs, Bone Island Press, and other general interest publications. She was also a contributing editor to publications serving municipal emergency response and industrial fire safety departments as well as an industry chemical data series.
